After graduating from Waterville Senior High School in 2009, Matthew went to upstate New York to attend St. Lawrence University where he graduated in 2013 with a B.A. in history. Following graduation, Matthew moved to Portland, Maine where he worked for the Volunteer Lawyers Project before spending a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA working to improve legal access to low-income Maine Veterans. Before deciding to attend law school, Matthew spent a year working in the IT department at L.L. Bean and, to this day, he misses the employee discount.

In 2016 Matthew started law school at the Maine School of Law in Portland, Maine. While in school, Matthew worked for the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic helping prisoners in Maine’s prison system with civil legal issues impacting their lives upon their release. Upon graduation from law school in 2019, Matthew returned to his hometown of Waterville to begin assisting fellow Mainers with estate planning and other elder law needs.

When not in the office you can find Matthew playing golf in the summer and skiing during the winter.
